Woodwork/ Art Teacher Years 7-9 for Internationella Engelska Skolan Täby, Stockholm, Sweden
IES Täby is a school with grades 4 through 9 with 1300 students and 132 employees. The school has an international focus where teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish. The school works to put learning and knowledge first. Students learn to take personal responsibility for their own development and work environment and to respect their schoolmates, teachers and themselves.
The position is full time primarily as a teacher of Woodwork & Art in grades 7-9 but, depending on competencies, also within other Aesthetic subjects. Teaching at IES Täby involves planning, implementing and evaluating teaching in English together with both students and colleagues. You will work in collaboration with subject colleagues, the school's support team, student councils and mentor colleagues.
The position includes being a mentor for a group of about 16 students. You will work in an international and stimulating environment where commitment, professionalism and the English language are common denominators. Academic expectations are high and we work in a school where good conditions for teaching and learning are established. The language of instruction for nature-oriented subjects is English, meaning you need to be fluent in English in speech and writing.
With us, you as a subject teacher will be part of a team with both Swedish and international teachers. The position requires commitment, responsibility and the ability to plan. It is merited if you have good knowledge of the Swedish curriculum and additional current governing documents.
We ask you to attach your teaching licence to your application. Extracts from the police register are a requirement for work in schools in Sweden and such checks will be made in connection with the employment. Interviews take place on an ongoing basis.
